"One Ring to rule them all,

and in the darkness bind them."
Inspiration for this colourful piece is drawn from J.R.R Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings series. The line, "And in the darkness bind them," is taken from the "ring-verse," written and preserved in elven lore.
The intention behind this illustration was to create an elf in an otherworldly atmosphere. The elf in this scene has been swayed by what remains unknown to the viewer and is turning away from the path of light and into a world of shadows where she will be bound for the rest of eternity.
