The inspiration to create Hua began shortly after the Lunar New Year celebrations. It was created as an expression of cultural identity and appreciation, having never done a traditional Chinese watercolour painting, but still wishing to establish and preserve the connection to family and heritage.
This piece was created using the pen, knife, eyedropper, and gradient tools in Adobe Illustrator.
The Chinese calligraphy is written in traditional Chinese, and says "Wong Wai Yee," in Cantonese.
